Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: PT Specialty: Physical Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: - Experience with inpatient clinical settings preferred. - Trauma experience preferred. Description: The unit treats a diverse patient population in various areas. Patients are treated in outpatient and inpatient settings. The number of patients treated per day varies based on the assigned area. Outpatient may handle up to 9 patients daily, while inpatient can treat up to 13. Common diagnoses include orthopedic, post-surgical, neurological, trauma, cardiac, and medical-surgical cases. Speech therapy focuses on stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, cognitive impairments, and swallowing difficulties. Candidates must have experience with bedside swallow studies and video swallowing studies. Occupational therapy addresses similar diagnoses as physical therapy. Rehabilitation patients may include those with spinal cord injuries and trauma. Staff will have the support of rehabilitation aides/occupational therapy assistants/physical therapy assistants. Uniform consists of a maroon polo shirt and dark-colored pants, with closed-toed shoes. Lab coats are optional. Weekend work may be required and will be specified in advance. Holidays are not required. Orientation will involve specific departmental training. Charting is completed using Cerner. The facility operates a pharmacy 24/7. Candidates should be prepared to cover assigned areas and may need to float to other departments as necessary.
